I asked Carolyn if I could share my favorite part of of the report and she agreed. So here it is:
When you read Google’s Helpful Content FAQs, replace “helpful” with “topical” and “unhelpful” with “off-topic.”
I’ve gone ahead and done that for you here.
In conclusion, my main takeaway from this report is that off-topic content can harm your rankings and your indexation rates.
In speaking with other folks about this, one solution may be to house “off-topic content” on a subdomain as doing so helped a friend of mine recover from the first HCU.
