Howdy Notebooker!

I wrote a note a while back called Topical Relevance Hack for SEO that showed you how to find supporting topics for your money pages. Simple idea: Google your money keyword, take the #1 result, do a site: search with the keyword, and you'd see all the supporting pages helping them rank.

But what about supporting content for AEO?

Think of it this way. In the SEO world, supporting content was like building a neighborhood around your money page. The more houses (articles) you built on that street, the more "established" your money page looked to Google. That was topical relevance (one thing you’ll want to make sure of is attracting the right type of user, i.e. someone who has the solution the ICP is looking to solve. E.g. if your site targets transactional lawyers, don't write content targeting litigation lawyers, yes Google knows the difference. Anyway, there’s a lot I can say about this, but it’s for another note)!

In this note, I’ll go deep, but for those of you who need a quick hit, here’s my comprehensive list of supporting topics for AEO.

The 14 Types of Supporting Content for AEO
