"This is a business I took on at the end of February, right before the pandemic started to get publicly perceptible.

I wanna outline what I've done for that business to achieve the results seen in the images and I also want to outline what I didn't do. I think that point might be interesting to some of you since those things are often sold as a magic pill when it comes to local SEO. The following tactics had been performed for a truck repair shop in the United States. (physical storefront business)

What has been done so far:

Apart from standard GMB optimization like business name, good categories, and an appropriate description, I've established regular content production including new photos, videos and posts. Every little thing that gets indexed by Google will certainly help rankings. (engagement)"

"Due to the fact that the business offers a variety of services it was not clear which category we should choose. Against a popular opinion that says we should base our categories on what our competitors use, I took a different approach. I tried to understand what makes the most money and how much competition we would face when ranking for that particular category. That obviously led to fewer leads from the previous primary category but more leads from our most valuable category. So make sure you identify your most valuable category before you set this up.

A perfectly optimized homepage that puts the business name first and describes USP´s, services and provides interesting information about the business. Every page that is somehow interesting to your customers needs to get linked to. I’m very sure that an optimized website is THE major factor (apart from GMB name, categories).

Schema markup. Local business Schema on the homepage, service schema on the service pages including additionalType (productontology), SameAs(Wikipedia), categories (copy from GMB).
